need QUICK advice about the oil cooler ?? can it be removed without harm?

okay tonight on the way home my oil cooler came loose and I ran it over!! I heard it and shut the car off immediatly because I know what it was, so I only lost about 1/2 quart of oil. It ripped the line off right on the banjo fittings

Long story short I drive this everyday to work and cannot let it sit till I can find a replacement part.

My temp ( 2mile) fix was to put large nuts in place of the banjo fittings to block off the flow.

Will this cause a loss of oil flow inside the motor?? I do fully intend to put a cooler back on probably an upgraded one, but I have to drive the car to work tommorow.

Use your best judgement here. All of the turbo dsm's come with an oil cooler of some sort wether it be air cooled or coolant cooled. If you absolutely have to drive the car I'd just stay out of boost. Oh and fix the oil leak for good.

You'll need to loop it so the oil can get back to the engine, I'd think. I don't know what kind of setup you're running- you're supposed to have an oil/water pancake stack under the filter.

is it a 90' 6 bolt motor so I have the real oil cooler

I'd loop the lines togeather with a piece of metal hose and some clamps and just stay out of boost until you can get its fixed properly.

it is basically impossible to loop because it ripped the metal line off the front banjo flush at the fitting.. so I have no way of getting anything on it.

oh well.. I am going tp go see what I can ****** rig for it
