Need opinon on Crankshaft

Just need your opinons on the condition of this crankshaft .... i think it looks good to me but might need a polish but what do you guys think

impossible to tell without the proper tools. It might look perfect but it could still be out of round. Take it to a machine shop and have them check it.

Take a penny and run it across a journal. If it leaves any copper behind it is because their is a small ridge their and you will want to get that crank polished. It's a old timer trick that works well.

You should barrow (if you don't own any) micrometers, 1"-2" for the rod journals, and a 2"-3" for the mains. The connecting rod journal diameter should be 1.771", with a out of round limit of .0006, and a taper limit of .0002. The mains should measure 2.243" with a out of round limit of .0006, and a taper limit of .0002. If you do not own, or know anybody you can barrow micrometers from, then take the crank to a local shop that turns crankshafts (not all shops turn cranks) and have them check it for you. Most places will do this free of charge. Also check the thrust surfaces (the two parallel surfaces perpendicular to the #3 main journal. Ensure that these surfaces are smooth and free from grooves and or ridges. When installing the crankshaft be sure to measure crankshaft end play as well as the oil clearances. Crank end play should be ,0020 to .0070.

If you try the penny stunt, use a copper one instead of a zinc one.

If you don't already own mics, you're probably not experienced enough with their use to get accurate readings. Just have your machinist check it over.
