I have a 96 NT 420a and im pretty sure my PCM is fried. Im planning on finding one at pull-a-part. Is there anything compatibility issues that i should know about? Or will any PCM from a 96 420a work? Didnt know if i have to find the exact same PCM code or whatever...

thx

as long as you get the new pcm out of a car with the same motor and tranny (420a 5 speed) then it will work just fine:) i accually just replaced mine 3 months ago.

awesome! im gonna head up to pull a part here in a few to see if i can find one. Hopefully these 5 speed 420a's are somewhat common.

thx man!

is it possible to use a PCM from another model that uses the 420a? i know of a couple off the top of my head, avenger and seabring. not sure if the pcm would be compatible tho...

I really dont think there compatiball, just be sure to make a mental note of youre pcm the cinector really. i belive tho all 96 n up are the same but the 95's are oddballs. If ya find one id by it just to turn around an resale it as there fairly rare.
