in my 1995 eclipse GSX with a 4G63 manual AWD. i had sent out my PCM to be repaired because of a bad capacitor. The guy that rebuilt it added a short thinking he was repairing it (im going to remove the short bar he installed.) but until then i found PCM's available on Ebay.
In doing research i found a list of PCMs that belong to the eclipse all in order.
My exact PCM is MD312464. EARLIER YEARS are different, later years are different. When they are automatic, the numbers are way different and when its not a 4G63 everything is absolutely different. not even the casing is the same. While searching i found a MD312467. litterally only different by ONE digit. looking it up this PCM was assigned to a 1995 Mitsubishi RVR. which tune the 4G63 to 230hp instead of the factory 210 for the eclipse, likely due to the heavier (van) that it powers. Does anyone have any info of whether this is a good idea? like will it not work etc. i heard about checksum and all that like if for 96 and up security features. but understand that these are plug and play when moving between vehicles. im asking does anyone know.
