Hey,

So last night I was driving home, half asleep, and at a stop sign I thought i shifted into first but instead it was 3rd, I tried to go with it in third, causing me to rev a to about 3-4k and not really moving, when i noticed I immediatly clutched and shifted back to 1st, when i did this I heard a loud "pop" from the drivers side front wheel (Its a GST). Still drove fine, but then this morning when I came to another stop sign I clutched and shifted to 1st, also felt like I hit a small pot hole I heard the same loud pop. Its a very unique loud pop that shakes the floor.

The one difference between the to "Pops" is the first one was when i was accelerating then second I was stopping.

I only spent a min looking behind the wheel with a flashlight looking for something broke but didnt see anything. Ill investigate more when I get a chance.

Just asking if anyone has an idea where to start looking.

I also want to add that my Tranny is rough, I just bought it that way, it grinds a lil bit if the clutch isnt pushed all the way to the floor, mostly in 1st and second but will also do it all the way to 5th.

First Im going to pick up some redline M/T oil this weekend. If that dosnt fix it then im thinking syncros are going, but the tranny was rebuilt 30k ago... and reciepts look to be from a decent place... but thats can always be deceiving

Sounds to me like you have a bad lower ball joint or control arm bushings had to say without seeing or testing them. I do not believe start out in 3rd has anything to do with your loud pop. Does it do it all the time or just once in awhile like if your turning a certain direction while accelerating or stopping?

its only happened twice so far, no turning, but once going and once stopping.
Ill take the wheel off and check out the ball joints this weekend. At first thats what I thought it was, just threw me off that I wasnt turning at all and it was louder then what im use to hearing with a bad joint.
