[RESOLVED] I have looked around this forum for a couple of days but I can not seem to find the answer to my question. I have a 99 eclipse gst spyder, 5 spd, Daily Driver, Bone Stock, gets lots of miles put on it. My current issue is that I tried pull out from a dead stop and killed the engine, no big deal, started it up tryed to pull out----------------The car acted like it did not want go, it had a little studder and the power just wasnt there. Once the car gets to 3 to 4 thousand rpms it doesnt studder or shake anymore but it feels like the power isnt there like it should be. I have changed the air filter, cleaned the MAF, inpected the plugs and wire seem to be fine (they are less than a year old). I was thinking something furl related but I can not seem to figure this one out.

Think I may have found the problem today.
ATTACHEd is the pic of the part that has the nipple is broken on the piece that I have circled.

What will this do to performance??

Thanks
Johnny

+1 on the BOV being the issue... if you have a boost leak....air that was accounted for, and that was supposed to go to the engine is no longer getting there....meaning you have all that extra fuel getting dumped in your little piggy.......like posted above, fix that, and see if thats the cause......car stutters when you have a boost leak, its like you have a giant rubber band holding you back

Thanks guys. The BOV is that something that I can get at advance or autozone or something that I have to get from a dealer? Also, would it be better to get and aftermarket BOV?

Replaced the BOV, no change. So I assumed bad gas, added some new fuel and some furl system cleaner. Problem was still there. I plan on doin a VAC leak test when it stops raining. Pulled a CEL last night had it checked and it was a misfire on my number 2 cylender along with an 02 sensor. The hesitaion at pull out is still there and now it is bucking at higher rpm's and under boost since I hooked up the BOV but it doesnt seem as sluggish as did. Are these signs of a bad fuel filter???? Or maybe a coil pack????

Thanks

WOW, I guess sometime you get lucky and it is the simpliest things. I change my plugs to the ngk plugs i was told to use on here and my gst is running much better. My car does does have a small "studder" at higher rpm's 3500 or so. I am going to change the o2 sensor and fuel filter. What is the best or a good O2 sensor.

Thanks for all the help.

I was going through someold stuff today and found my stock plug wires. I had ordered some accell 7920R last night. So i decided to put them back on my car to see if still had a miss. It was gone! So the new plug wires should make my car run like a top. Thanks for all the help.

Thanks

Check the power unit (igniter) next to your intake manifold.. then start looking for ic pipes or MAF pipes. You can snag a used power unit off a car from a J yard cheap. Its a small plastic square sensor with two screw holes and a plug going into it, kinda flat.

:tease:

See if you can find a used one off of a 1g. look at the junk yard or even in the classifieds

Yeah the 1g BOV doesnt leak like the 2g plastic ones.
I just gave a BOV away (XS model) for 5 bux LOL but you can crush a 1g (they call it crush i guess) its a technic used by dsm'er to save money when they cant get a TIAL bov.. works pretty much the same.
