Lets say i run the car for a while knowing the hydrolic tensior may be going bad, what problems do i have to look forwars to?

IT FAILING, your belt geting toss'd and your Pistions have inter-course with your valves.
All tho- i wouldnt think it if was going bad it would "tick"

It ticks if the tensioner arm moves faster than the tensioner can expand to take up any slack or if the tension is off and the arm travels out of the adjusters range.

Over time the adjuster tends to wear a dimple in the contact surface of the arm. That opens the effective distance between the adjuster and arm and in combination with the belt stretching can put you out of range of the adjuster.
