Hey, i was changing the belts on my car last night because they snapped when i bought the car, so there was only the power steering belt on there, and when i went to change the belt for the AC i couldnt find the tensioner for it. I looked in my haynes manual and it said there is a pulley of some sort for it. I looked and looked but couldnt seem to find it. Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction or if anyone had a picture of where it would be.

Car is a 91 talon TSI AWD btw. Thanks. :thumb:

The tensioner is located right above the AC compressor. It is bolted up to the engine by TWO bolts, one pivot bolt, and one bolt that is in a slot onto which the pulley moves inwards or outwards, depending how much tension you want. There is also a third bolt that you turn CW or CCW to put more or less tension on the belt. Just find it where I told you, and from looking at it, it's self-explanatory.

*Oh crap, I forgot this was for a 1g, so some of my words may not apply but same idea...

I guess thats why i couldnt find it. I dont have one of those. LOL

Junkyard time. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, the previous owner of the car was a moron. The cars not recirculating, the mbc and boost gauge are hooked up wrong, pretty much nothing works how its supposed to.

But i dont care, i love the car, and its still not as bad as my RX7's were.
