Need ideas or pics of hidden FMIC on 1g

Ok so next on my list is FMIC.

The car will be running on 50 trim turbo and meth injection.
Power goal of 400awhp
So by my estimate I'll be boosting around 23+ psi.

Heatsoak is my #1 problem.

Solution is a FMIC. But I live in the bay area California and don't really wanna keep getting bugged by the po po or get the attention of thieves. I've put in some "anti thieves stuff already so im left with the po po Issue.


For starters ill be painting the IC black/flat. Any cooling lost should be minimal.

I'll be making a fiber glass ducking that will act as a wall to make sure all air that comes in the bottom front bumper goes through the core.

That leaves me with how to hide a black IC.

I've been looking at stock grills front other cars that I can cut and put on the bumper but no luck yet. Any ideas?

Ps this is dd obviously so a to w ic won't work.

I would pay the extra $$$ and get it anodized black vs painting it. You will be amaze at how quickly paint will lower the efficiency of the ic.

as far as hiding it goes with the stock uncut bumer and it being black it will look just like a radiator.

If your looking for the stealth look, why don't you get an upgraded SMIC??

^ Apart from the Supra SMIC, the upgraded sidemounts are a rare commodity to find. Additionally with his boost levels, even with water/meth injection, it would still be pushing that little ic.

Why dont you just buy the material and make your own grilles, or have a shop do it for you. Heres one of many websites that sell the material.

I actually have a supra smic lying around from my old supra days. Thought about but after reading up on it looks like it's not going to cool enough at my power goal.

Well what I was thinking since it sticks out farther it wouldn't be confused for a radiator. I guess to the general public it would look like it.

I know you said its your dd but I've heard of taking out the front bumper support/crash bar. That would give you more room to hide your ic

Anodize it black and throw a black mesh grill in front hides it very well

You can paint it black, just make sure you use radiator paint. Considerably cheaper than having it anodized and you shouldn't lose any efficiency. Using regular paint on a radiator is when you hear of people having issues.

Completely untrue. Plenty of OEMs use them. We ran one for years on a friend's car, it worked better than his previous air/air setup. On a 90 degree day, charge temps never got over 95F. You just need to size the reservoir and heat exchanger properly and use a good pump.

Black anodize it and be done....you'll be fine. Here's mine blacked out. Having a black car may make mine a little more stealth, but even on a different color I think it will be good enough to keep you from getting unwanted attention
