need help with rims

ok i have a 97 gst, imma get 17 inch black rims, i was wondering what size tires can i get without having a rubbing problem. 225? 235? what would my tire size be? does my rim need to be a certain width? my car is lowered already if you guys need to know. thanks guys.

First... do a search

Second, the size tire you can fit on the rim will depend on its width, and also the offset of the wheel since you'll have to worry about fitment on the car. Get the width/offset info and someone might decide to help rather than yell at you for not searching for this info that's been posted a bajillion times.
