need help with my blow off valve

First i just want to say thank you to ALL those that helped me with my neo question. I think i am on my way to tuning it. So with that said here is my next problem. My cheap ebay blow off valv is making a different noise than it was befor. It was making a high pitch wistle noise and now its not, the noise i hear now is more like a fluttering sound. Any ideas on what would cause that. I was thinking that its just the fact that i bought a chear bov and probaly ned to get a better one. So if anyone has any ideas i can really use the help. THANKS

You need to adjust it. It is fluttering because it is not adjusted correctly. This can happen if you changed something even slightly.

Well a flutter is usually when yor spring isn't strong enough to hold your boost pressure..Get rid of the cheap ebay bov, and get a good one..Or if you want to go cheap, get a 1g bov.A 1g bov can hold up to 30 psi if you mod it right..But if your not runing 30 psi it will hold just fine.

But otherwise try adjusting your cheap bov to get you by for now..

I would also suspect that the diaphragm is shot.

Sorry i am still learning but what do you mean by the diaphram might be broke r shot?

If it's a non HKS style knock off then there is an irrrnal diaphragm that makes a seal to prevent leaks.

Ok thanks for everything all the info has helped out alot. I am just gonna try to adjust this one and buy a new one. Any suggestions on what i should buy?

Either a 1g or a named BOV (other than Greddy and HKS/style) that can be recirculated.

I apologize about the PM. This will let me post, the turbo problem forum wouldn't. From what you said in your PM though if it was blowing off before you swapped to the 20g. My solution might not be... I thought you put the new BOV on and it started. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Get a new BOV and recirculate it.

I run a 1g but I also have a Greddy Type-S for a back up that I really don't need at the moment but you never know.

do a bost leak test that will tell you if the blow off valve is ok.
