need help with motor install ASAP!

ok i have a 95 talon and i bought an engine from a 97talon the mech that is putting it in says the fuel rail,injectors and sensors (knock etc..) wont fit. he says its becuase its a newer engine could this be true. what to do now???

yes its for a 420a,yes the motor being put in is a 420a..

my GF is the one that talked to him yesterday,but from what she told me its the fuel rail wirein lead,the knock sensor and a few other things that need to plug into the cars wirein harness that the guy is sayin wont work becouse from what i beleave they wont plug in..

the car is a 95 talon esi the motor came from a 97 talon,and the fuel rail,manifolds and a few other things came from a 96 eclipse...
 
They are all the same motor, so it should bolt in just fine. I'd go over there tomorrow and see exactly what he is talking about, but if he's having problems swapping a motor, maybe he's not the guy you want to be going to.

i am going there in the moring,but i took the old motor out and got lazy and didnt feel like putin one back in so i fig they are asc certified so they could get it done quick and ez but i quess not..
 
Yea, sometimes people just don't wanna put the work into these cars. My car developed a severe knock, so I took it to a trusted shop. They called me the next day saying my balance shaft went out and I need a new motor at a cost of $2300. Needless to say, I picked up my car the next day, only to find out they only took off the valve cover. :confused: When I took it apart, something was wrong with the wrist pin/rod on cyl #2. Moral of the story..I only trust myself and my machinist now to work on my car.

But yea, if they are ASE certified, they SHOULD be able to put a motor in no problem. Let us know what you see in the morning.
 
well they were right and you guys were wrong..
the coil pack from the 97 talon had a diff wirein harness plug in
the fuel rail from the 96 eclipse didnt have a return line
and the therm housein sensors plug ins from the 96 eclipse were all diff..

so far thats what they have ran into being diff but they were right,he said that when ppl say that the motor is the same they were right but the stuff that bolted on the motor were diff from year to year..

but the motor is in and about 90% of the stuff is hooked up all i saw that was left to do was put on the ac and ps pumps along with the belts for them and the main crank pulley,swap out the fuel rail,hook up a few sensors,put the axels back in and the hook up the ex and it should be ready..
