I just dropped in my stock rebuilt 6 bolt and I am running a 3.5 maf and translator. I am missing the translator cover so I dont know what version I got. On the inside it says v 1.7. so I am confuse which settings to go with seeing that each version is different. I got it set at aux=4 and base=2 for a stock fuel system. The car is hard to start and wont really idle unless I give it some gas for awhile. When I rev it sounds like crap and breaks up. I played with my cam angle sensor and got it set right with around 8 degrees btdc. I pulled my plugs and they were all black except for number 1 ( gonna check that injector) I am alittle disappointed right now with this rebuild so any advice would help.

all maft gen1 whatever version they might be are basically the same, the maft gen2 and pro are different. Did you check fullthrottle.com, its the forum for translator related problems, the make it so they know it really good, the only thing that i could advice since i have the gen 2 and know very little of the first one is to make sure you have the injector settings and the maf in (which in your case would be a 3.5 GMmaf ) correct. also if its in blowthrough try changing the maf setting to 3in sometimes what happens is the car has an incorrect reading on the amount of air since its not designed to be used so close to the throttle body

also I do have a weak coupling connection right before my tb that I put together to get the car started. Maybe that might be a leaking and causing my rich conditions.

could be i overtighten mine at the same spot causing it to dent and at first it ran like shit. i took it out and fixed it and it runs pretty good

well i double check some wiring and everything seems good. I am gonna do a compression test to make sure everything is running right. But I got a hunch its coming from my gm maf and translator.

ok here is the update. compression test turned out good with 150 psi across. I yanked the gm maf and ghetto rigged my stock maf back on and car runs much better. I also fixed a faulty ect sensor connection. However it still runs rough. It will start and idle on its own but it revs from 700ish to 850 and sounds like it wants to stall. Does anyone know what is suppose to be the resistance value for the ect sensor? I am thinking 0.0 with it out of the car.
