I'm having a little trouble wiring up a universal horn to my 1995 GSX. I bought the car with the horn not working and yesterday I decided to try to fix it. I went through and checked fuses (only one i could find is fuse panel in engine compartment) and I'm pretty sure the relay is fine. I went to Autozone and picked up a universal horn that they said was OE replacement for my car.

The horn is located behind my battery on the firewall so it's sort of a pain ( I'm not sure if it's considered a high tone or low tone horn)

I removed the old horn and put this one in it's place, i had to cut the plug off and there are two wires, red and black. I wired them up and connected them to the horn and re-installed the battery, when I push the horn pad on the steering wheel I'm still getting a clicking sound, which I assume is coming from the relay.

Am I wiring it wrong or is there something I'm missing?

Thanks in advance.

If you have a volt meter have someone hold the horn when the car is on and see if your getting good power or good ground. Usually the grounds go bad. The red wire is usually power and the black wire is ground so see if your wires are right red goin to power and black goin to ground.

The horn on your firewall is for the factory alarm. The horn in front your your drivers side front wheel behind the bumper cover is the one you want to hook the replacement to.

Ah ok. That's what I started to think it was. I looked under there but I didn't actually see a horn so It was probably taken off when they put the 2gb bumper on this car. Thanks for all the info, helped me out a bunch.
