need help with fuel

when i go fast around hard turns it seems the fuel pump shuts off then randomly turns back on durin the turn then kicks right back on right after the turn. any idea?

with what symptoms are you using to determine it is the fuel pump?

if your car is dieing for no reason, it could be a number of things, but i'd start with the TPS or ISC

I also have this same problem. I believe its the fuel pump in my car mainly because it never acted up before I replaced it. When I had the stock pump, I could push my car into turns no problem. Now that I have my Walbro 255, the car will hesitate and backfire half way through a turn if Im pushing it hard at all. I know its not the install thats the problem since Ive takin it apart and put it together twice and my fuel pressure gauge is reading a perfect 43 psi. My problems are a listed below.

1. Car hesitates during hard cornering and backfires.
2. Car backfire during hard acceleration at top end in higher gears
3. The pump makes almost a grinding noise when I run low on fuel. It will fluctuate between the normal whine of the walbro to a grinding noise.

I also didnt put the little filter on the pump during the install since it would not fit even with modification. Please help me and eclipse-gst339. Thanx!

the only thing it does is it shuts off in hard corners and halfway through it will backfire and thats it. then as soon as its back on the straight it goes again. its gotta be fuel i think cause as it gets lower on gas it gets worse

i used to have a 95 gst and i put a 255 walbro fuel pump on it and it did the same thing. i put the stock one back on and it stopped. i dont know why it would do that with an upgraded one, maybe it was one of the lines or somehting but it stopped and hasnt done it since i sold it. maybe the spyder needs to have the stock pump back on. try that and then see what happens. landon
