Need help with Fuel pressure gauge

The B&M kit actually bolts right into the top of your fuel filter, real easy to install. It comes with simple instructions and works well.

The B&M kit bolts onto the top of the filter but their gauge will break.

On mine I just took the bolt that goes to the top of the filter off... then had a machine shop drill and tap it.

If you had a drill press and an 1/8 npt tap you could do it on your own.

Unless you have an AFPR getting a gauge will be pointless. Even if your stock FPR is making it low, you wont be able to do anything without an AFPR. I would just get one on e-bay for 100 bucks that has both the gauge and the AFPR. Look for OBX or Weapon R or something on e-bay

He just said he wanted a gauge to check... I am pretty sure he understands you cant turn it up with just a gauge.

You CAN adjust your fuel pressure without an adjustable regulator but you have to use more than one. You can switch from a manual to an automatic to a non-turbo regulator to play around with base fuel pressure. It's an easy way to diagnose some fuel problems.

I've been using a digital, electric, 0-100 psi Oil Pressure gauge as a fuel pressure gauge for 3+ years now and it works fine. And it's cheap! $50 or something , I don't remember. I tee'd a fitting into the line from the filter to the rail and screwed in the sending unit. Easy enough. I wired the gauge to a pod on my console (http://hometown.aol.com/rcm1061/myhomepage/personal.html) and now I can watch idle pressure, pressure rise and max pressure. It's good to know everything is working properly even if I can't adjust it.

Electric sounds good if I can get one cheep. Where did you get yours?

Is there a kit somwhere that would allow me to tap into the fuel line with a T-fitting? If not what size is the line so that I can get one?

I think I got mine from JC Whitney, it was cheap. There is no "kit" to tap in but all you need is a brass T fitting and a few barbs. I don't remember the sizes. I did mine over 3 years ago. Whichever size you get be sure the passage on the inside is as large as possible so it doesn't restrict fuel flow.
