Need Help with first upgrades

Just bought a 92 Laser Rs N/T Bone stock i want to add a K&N air filter and replace the timing belt ( how hard is it to replace?) It has 69000 km's.

Any suggestions.

I think its running rich because if you stand behind the car while its being revved a little you smell gas quite a bit ( would a fuel computer fix that )

new exhaust, and intake are great ways to start off iwth mods...

these cars run rich from the factory, so that smell is sposta be there
