Ok, my car is a 1991 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo, or was. My friend, who I bought it off, got it when he was 16 and it still had the cyclone in it. Then that motor went, his parents bought him a new N/T and put it in with a trans. The Trans is still new, but the motor obviously is majorly screwed. I want to convert it back to the cyclone, but do you think that all the other equipment is still there? Like the Intercooler, stuff like that that was part of the cyclone? I don't know if they removed everything or if they just un-hooked it and left it in the car. I'm going to put the 4G63t trans back in it too. So please I really need help before I go headfirst into this car with all my money!

So its a turbo fwd with a nt motor and tranny in it?? What about the ecu and wiring? That thing probably runs like shit if that hasn't been replaced.

As far as me guessing about what they left, I can guess, but you'd be better off looking yourself. I guess I really don't know what you're asking in your post other than asking us to guess as to what they left in the vehicle.

Well I guess what I'm asking is what did they probably leave/ what can be unhooked and left in the car? ie intercooler. I can't really get a good look at the car. And the other question is would it be safe to consider this a full N/T to 4g63t conversion, like I'll need all parts for it?

It's possible they left the intercooler, but you won't have any of the intercooler pipes. More important would be to make sure they left the fuel pump in there (highly highly doubt they switched that) and wiring harness/ecu/450cc injectors. The intercooler is only about $40 or so used if it's not there.

Ok, thats good. I know it has/had the Side mounted intercooler, but while I'm at it is it more efficent if I change it to a foward mount? And how do I know if the fuel pump is the same? And on a sidenote what happens when you run a cyclone turbo on a n/a fuel pump? Does it just choke the engine to death? My friend said that I would have to buy a new wiring harness, but I'm not so sure about that. He may have been well read on DSMs but he was no mechanic. So a 4G63t wiring harness would work on an n/t wouldn't it? Isn't the difference just two wires?

A little off topic, but while I've got your attention: Also, I had a quick question are All JDM transmissions/motors for 91 AWD? Or am I not looking hard enough for a FWD?

You could switch to a front mount if you'd like but they're not cheap and it sounds like everything else is going to be stock for awhile.

Other than that you really need to get the car in your hands before I can help you much further, there's a million and one possiblities as to what the might have left and all that can be answered if you had the car.
