Thanks for looking.

Well, I was working on the timing side of the engine today for my 1990 eclipse gsx manual. Just taking carew of maintenance before I attempt to start it for the first time.

I started with replacing the water pump which went well and moved onto the seals. I started with the exhaust cam and moved along nicely. I them moved to the intake and it was a pita to break loose. Finaly it went and I went to pop the cam off and when I did I noticed the dowl pin for the cam had sheired off.

Currently looking what to do. Is it possible to put a new pin in the cam or do I need to replace the cam? If I need to replace the cam is there a specific year or anything I need to look for.

I just wanted to be safe and know everything will be ok when it's time to fire the engine up.

Thanks for the help!

i would take the cam to a local auto machine shop and they will extract the broken dowl pin and install a new one for a pretty low fee. but you can always put in a nice set of replacement cams even a set of mild 264 cams is a nice improvement over stock while you have it all apart.
