Need Help With 91 Gst Please

i just got a 91 gst and the guy told me he was driving it home and it just strted knocking real bad and that was it her took it to a shop he said and they said it lock up whats do you guys think crankwalk rodbereng how to digonos the promblem or what should i get to get the car running iam doning all the work my self but please help me out thanks

If it was knocking real bad and locked up the a main or a rod bearing got hot enough to stop the engine. You may just need a crank and a rod if it was a rod bearing or another bottom end if it was a main bearing. If you have not done this type of work before and do not know how inspect the damage then I would say just buy a different bottom end that is good and put it back together. BTW, when bearings fail the coating material gets sucked up in the oil and pumped into the oil gallies. If the future this coating material may totally block a galley and cause crankshaft bearing failures, balance shaft failures and camshaft journal failures.

No, once it cools off it frees up. Pull the oil pan and look for the dark rod cap or main cap. Look to see if the timing belt is chewed up. Cams locking can tear the teeth off the timing belt.
