Friends, I need your Help.

My Stock FPR is leaking some gas. I realized it when my stock rubber hose broke and I smelled gas comming from the engine bay one day when I turned my car on. So I went to see and saw gas popping from the "nipple" where the hose that goes from it to the Fuel Press Solenoid.

As far as I know, it should NEVER let fuel go out right ?

Is it time to replace it ? What els might I look ? My fuel system is still stock.

Thanks !!

Your FPR diaphragm is bad. Replace the FPR with a new one and you'll be set.

And don't forget to change the o-ring when you install the new one. Bring the old o-ring to a parts store and pick out one that is the same size. Lube it up with a light amount of grease before installing.

Thank you very much friend.
I'm planning my upgrades and in Mach 13 I will install an EVOIII 16G, 1000cc injectors, AFPR, LINK, FMIC, etc...

Until I mount my upgrades, is it dangerous to keep my Stock FPR leaking like this ? Also, I've searched and didn't find any "affordable" stock FPRs for sale. Is there a way to repair the diaphragm as some people do with BOVS ?

Or is it time to just buy a AFPR now ?

Thanks again

Fuel getting anywhere it isn't supposed to be should be considered dangerous. Your gas mileage is going to suffer and you are losing fuel pressure. Your performance is probably not very good either.

I would either buy an used one which is risky, or get the AFPR now.

As far as I know, no way to repair the diaphragm in an FPR like that. It isn't serviceable.

Yes it is a bad idea to run it like that. You are leaking fuel into the intake manifold thru the vacuum hose and the fpr isn't working properly. Being that it isn't working properly you a/f ratio under boost will likely be lean. It is in no way fixable.

Put a want to buy add up in the classifieds or search the classifieds.

It will fit but it's a lower pressure rating of 37 psi compared to 43 psi that the 2g runs on. I would advise to find a 2g or just get an AFPR now.

Why not go ahead and get a AFPR? They work fine with stock everything else and that will be one less thing you have to worry about when you are ready to upgrade the rest of the system.

It was not on my plans to buy a AFPR right now... Only some months later. So I wanted the simplest solution until I can afford one.

But I'll have to buy one in the end... LOL
