OK well a while back maybe 6 months ago my car was wrecked, hit a curb, broke the steering knuckle, bent tie rod, pulled the axle out of the transmission, and bent 2 rims...this is all fixed now but ever since that wreck my car has not been running right

The car is a 95 Eagle Talon TSI FWD Auto

The car runs great when its just idling no problems at all, but as soon as i go to drive, it just doesn't move like it should, i get very bad gas mileage, if i drive it down the street the car smells like unburnt fuel, if i rev it in neutral i blow black smoke that almost immediately turns clear at about 5500RPM. Even with a boost leak i don't think it would be this slow, my vac is -15 in P but it i go in R or D it raises to -10, i know i have a boost leak, i have tried to BL test it but it just leaks out and it will not hold pressure so im going to take it in to a local shop to have it done.

I have also been thinking maybe since the axle was pulled out from the trans that the car could have went into limp mode? The car was low on trans Fluid, but i filled it up yesterday...I know that the pulling the - battery terminal will clear codes on the ecu but will it pull codes off the TCU?

Please help this has been going on for far too long, my car need to be back on the road again

The boost leaks arent helping anything, I would start by fixing those. Rember when you do a boost leak test spray down all the vaccum lines,UICP,LICP,Injectors,BOV, throttle body. with soapy water this will help you find the leak alot faster, just look for bubbles and you've found your leak. Also do you have a logger?

its very hard to say but i would check for vac leaks,i use brake cleaner to find leaks.
if their is a leak the car will will bog down with the brake cleaner.

When I did a BL test I used soapy water, I found 2 leaks, the TB and the Biss screw, but that was all that I found, I fixed the TB leak but there was still not difference in performance the vac went from -12 to -15 but when I put it in drive it drops to -10. Could the Biss screw leak this much?

it could, sounds like you have some serious vac issues..have you checked the intake manny
gasket and all the vac lines behind the manifold.

I removed the EGR valve :coy: forgot about that LOL that also helped my vac problem too along with fixing the TB leak. How would I go about changing my Biss screw?

The intake Mani gasket doesn't seem to be leaking, that was the first thing I checked when I did the test.
