need help getting tire off

alright guys and gals changing the front brakes of my 98 gst need a little help. I have never even seen this but the in the rim there is a pin and what looks to be like a 23mm nut holding the rest of the rim of how to i get the damn tire off i really need to change my brakes someone please help me.

its probably stuck....if youve removed your lugs (i hope you tried that first) LOL and the wheel still wont come off....beat it from the inside with a rubber mallot

**edit** make sure you hit the tire so you dont #### up your rim :thumb:

Sometimes the wheels are just hard to take off and require a little bit of elbow grease to get them off. I know my passenger's side front wheel was cake to get off, but I had to really work to get my driver's side wheel off.

And he's right about that large nut, it's the nut to hold the axle in properly, and it's got 150 ft/lbs of torque on it, so I wouldn't take it off if I didn't have to ;). And supposedly if you take them off, you're supposed to replace them.
 
Jack car up
put on 3 out of 5 lugnuts very loosely handtightened.
Drop car down and roll a few feet each way in nuetral or as needed.
Jack car up and wheel is off.


That worked for me after rubber mallets, two by fours, and threats didn't work. :mad:
Damn michigan winters and its caked on rust.
