Need help finding a part

I went to my local Mitsu dealer to replace the fuel hose that goes from the filler neck into the tank, and the parts guy told me that it is discontinued and no one has it in stock. Checked all the local parts places and no one carries it. I've done a pretty good search here, but no luck. Anybody know of a replacement part or a car that I could find this part off of? Car is down (it is a DSM), but this is the only part keeping it that way. I hate letting my 90 GSX with 89k on it sit. The part is 1.75ID with a right angle bend in it. I looked at a piece of the generic fit flex hose, but couldn't make it bend tight enough to work.

Try the local truck supply, or an industrial bearing supply. They're liable to have what you need.

I would try to go to the junkyard. I plan on going soon to look for a new door. I will check to see if there are any laying around if so i will pm so you can give me mailing info. Free of charge since part wont be that much to ship. I have seen a few 1g's down there so i hope they are still there. Let ya know as soon as i go., oh and if you go to the junkyard you should be able to get it off any eclips,talon,or laser of the same year. I know the intrepeds and stealths have the same door handles but i am not sure about the filler hose. Hope that helps a bit.

The local Jeep Dealer sold me one.

look in the phone book for a local hydraulic line maker. they would be able to make you a fuel line with a 90 degree bend in it. or you may have to get a steel braided earls pluming line with a 90 degree bend.

It's the filler pipe, not fuel line.

Halligoo - Was the part that you got from the Jeep dealer specifically for the Talon or a similar alternative piece? P/N?? Cost?

I've been looking for this part too with no luck at all. I will probably end up finding a parts store that has a random selection of 90's (gas/oil resistant) and find one that fits.

It was probably "specific" for a Laser. I had to get some of the parts for my balance shaft elimination from the Chrysler dealer, too.

It was specific for my 95 Talon. I sent you a private message about this. I will post the Part Number if you can supply the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). I have a 95 and am not sure if they are the same.

Well my first trip to the junkyard this week turned up a lot of nothing useful. They dropped another car on the parts i needed......I found a 92 talon, and a 90 talon so i tried to check out the filler hose....one was not there at all and the other had a nice hole in it. So no luck yet sorry. I do plan on going to a different junkyard this week. Cant promise anything but i will look for you again.

I'm looking for this same part... I checked with my local Mitsu dealer and they tell me that the part has been on back order for 3 months.

Halligoo suggested going to the Jeep dealer... I called them and they're telling me that the part is discontinued!!!

I've also tried a number of the local parts stores looking for any type of pre-molded hose that is for gas service - no luck. All they have are straight sections. I suppose you/I could get a metal 1-3/4" 90 deg. elbow and use the straight sections from the autoparts stores as couplings... a couple of clamps and you're done. Hmm...

I need my replaced as well. I looked for one over half year ago and it's been discontinued then. You cannot backorder it--it's been DISCONTINUED.

Will need to find same diameter and bend hose that is gasoline-resistant. From another car, or like Defiant suggested: truck parts supply. I had no luck at the usual auto parts stores--don't even bother. Obviously this will be a custom application, so expect to cut it to size.

if one of you guys can get a part number from the dealer i know a guy that works at the main mitsu parts center i can check with him on that part. they are the ones shipping parts out to the mitsu dealers and sp,e times their inventory would sho 0 in stock byt they maight have a couple.

For anybody else who is in need of this part:

I ran into similar problems finding the part, so here's what we did to make our own.

-Buy about 6" of 1 3/4" ID Fuel hose from a local parts store.
-Buy a 1 1/2" ID 90 degree copper elbow from any plumbing supply company. Make sure it has flanges on both ends. (The copper will be 1/8" thick, and the flange is another 1/8" making it 1 3/4" OD)
-Buy 2 (or 4 if the fuel hose thickness is considerably different) hose clamps of appropriate size.

Use the old hose as a template, cut the hose, clamp it all together and put it on the car. Takes no more than 30 minutes. This will only work on AWD cars (I believe).
