My maf stopped reading any air the other day which is making my car run insanely rich. I put a new maf on it and it still doesn't read anything. It's got power to it also. Does any one have any idea what could be wrong?

try the maf on another car make sure it works. ever thought of oxygen sensor. you need to put the car on a scanner to see what is happening. poeple can right in an guess and argue over guessing.

I have scanned it maf code number 12 is on, maf reads 0hz but when you start it the reading goes to 58hz then stays at 0. The car has a new O2 sensor on it. The new maf works on my friends car.

wiring issue, jiggle the connector. i am not sure if the computer will reject the map reading for a given condition. plus that frequency should bounce around a bit

One other thing I don't know if this is related to my problem but my factory boost gauge goes to 0 with the car then just stays at -7 with the car started and doesn't move. It started acting like this when the maf stopped working. Could a bad ecu cause this?
