Need confirmation I screwed up my O2 Sensor

Well I just put on my s16G, and started my car. Front OEM narrow band O2 sensor at idle is 0.0 Volts. While driving it will bounce from 0 to .4Volts but likes to stay at 0.0 Volts unless I use the throttle kinda hard.

My A/F meter with wideband O2 is reading 13.7 at idle and in the 12s while cruising.

Funny thing is my rear O2 seems to be acting funny now too.....It likes to stay at .96 volts Not cycling as much as it did prior to the s16g install.

I think I might of gotten some PB blaster on it the front narrow band .....IS IT TOAST?

If it is not cycle while in closed loop, then yes it is likely no good any longer. I'm assuming you are checking the voltage when the motor is up to temp.

Yah, its up to temp....

Got another O2 ordered, but kinda thinking now it could be grounding since rear is acting up too.

I did use the metal gaskets for the turbo and O2 housings but put alot of high temp sealer on them. Maybe I have lost some grounding?

Doesn't the oxygen sensor use one of its own wires to ground itself to the ecu?

Yes that is what I thought too.....hopefully its just the front O2 sensor and nothing else. Just seems odd that rear O2 started acting up the same time the front did.

Open loop means the ecu is not using the sensors data for fuel calculations. Closed loop it is.

The sensor is supplied ground through the harness.

Correct....Put a new one in and all is good...

Advanced auto, autozone, and orileys did not have one. They tried to sell me one that was supposed to be an OE replacement. Wires were all too short. Ended up ordering one from NAPA that had a 30+ inch wires and it fit like a glove.
