Need advice from wisemen

o.k. this is the deal...I used to have a girl that worked for me years ago that recently put her car up for sale...it has a blown engine (probably crankwalk) its a 1996 Eagle Talon TSi, the good news is she only wants 800.00 for it, and other then the engine, it looks like its show room new...the bad news is its an automatic...so I have seen several threads about automatics. But I was really wanting something for performance. I know its possible to get performance out of this car...but is it worth it in your opinions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Automatics can be worth it, I think like the 3rd or 4th fastest DSM is an automatic. It'll cost a little bit more money cause you'll want a stall converter and shit. Or you could just tranny sway it to a manual. 800 is not a bad price, if nothing else fix it sell it buy one with a manual

if you want to have fun driving it as well as performance, just put a 5 speed tranny in it, the cars a good deal

I'm sorry for having taken so long with posting on this thread, I went ahead and purchased the Talon and will be downloading pictures as soon as I have them, It's a pretty clean ride and I have already started disassembling the engine bay to make room for a new engine. Let me know what you think after I download the pictures. Thanks
