Im a newbie and I dont even have the car yet. I was suppose to get a 97 but it had heating problems and so no thanks. Anyway, new plan is to completely rebuild a 99 GSX to be the exact way I want it. However being new to this I have few tools and no garage but am doing it anyway, i'll figure something out. Only thing I need help with is exactly what has to be done. Simple things even like how exactly to remove the engine from the dang car, wires to disconnect, parts, etc I wont have trouble tearing the engine down but the problem is back together as in what parts I should be getting. I want to replace as much as I need to from the bottem end up. What parts should I be replacing? I ask from the bottem up cause my budget will limit me to go part by part, dont have a choice on that unfortunately. Im going to be working with the 99 GSX 4G63T engine and I want to eliminate the balance shaft and put in the 16g from the EVO. Anything special required for that? I was also thinking of putting in some EVO internals, since they are basically the same engine, would that work out? Im not trying to gain huge amounts of horsepower, just trying to make it best I can and reliable as it will be a daily driver. Ant advice would be greatly appreciated even its as small as i'll need a certain tool, anything you can offer.
