Need a little help!

OK, I know this is a huge NEWB question, but I did search and couldn't find exactly what I wanted to know.
Here is my problem;
I just got my 2.5" 1G MAS intake pipe from dsmparts.com today, but it doesn't have all the hose fittings that the stock intake tubing has. (91 Eclipse GST) It does have the BOV return hose fitting, but there are two other hoses going into the stock intake tubing that I'm not exactly sure what they are used for.
I know one goes into the valve cover... and can be replaced with a breather filter for the crankcase pressure issue, is that right?
But what is the other hose for? Will there be any problems if it's not connected to the intake?
Please help!

Should be for the charcoal canister and will not harm anything if not hooked up.

It won't harm anything, until he goes to smog. Then again, I don't know Ohio's smog policies.

OK, cool, thanks guys. I'm not sure of Ohio's emissions policies either... if we have any. I know I've personally never had to take an emissions test for a car, so I'm not too worried about it.

I've had it unhooked for 3 years and I have to smog every year.
