My newbie friend needed a new turbo for his fwd turbo laser, and picked this up somewhere. I dunno what the heck it is but on the inlet housing it says Garrett AR42. After realizing he couldnt use it he asked me to sell it for him so he could try and make some of his money back. He paid $120 for this thing and it has some shaft play side to side, and it sounds like a little rubbing or some noise when ya try and spin it. (maybe needs oil) It appears to be really clean and to have been sitting for quite a while. Please name this turbo so I can try and resell it for him to make up some losses. Oh and its oil/water cooled

Its hard to tell, put the compressor side up to a ruler or a pop can or something. Looks like a small inlet, my guess is a T-25, but don't quote me on that.

EDIT:

Alright, I dug up some info on this turbo. The turbo is a OE equiptment on a Saab C900. It is a very small and OLD design. These were built before most Mitsubishi Turbo's which have a much better design to them than that AR42.

Thanks alot, where did ya find the info, i searched and couldnt find anything. And yes this thing is pretty small, but my buddy says its much heavier than a 14b Watcha think its worth?

Take a pic of the compressor side(air intake(cold side(alternating blade size side ;) ))) of the turbo and post it up, depending on what size the wheel is will be a big factor in price. Because its an old, heavy turbo with some shaft play you should not expect to get more than $75 for it. Depending on size though can make the price go up. It also has a very odd inlet, I've never seen one without a snorkle, that looks like a flange bolts up to it. I couldn't find any specs on the turbo.

OK, I'm guessing then that's a different style of turbo with the same housing as the one I posted. The one I posted I just noticed has a snorkle, yours doesn't. From the pic you took it looks like the inducer is just under 1.75 inches. About 1.65-1.7 inches. A stock 14b is 1.69 inches. So its about as big as the 14b. Sell it to a Honda owner, it would be a great turbo for a low-psi application. Say $100-125.

this is MY turbo that im trying too sell on ebay.the infi i got is that its off of a datona or simular car..i bought this 5 min befor io found a 14b..jus tryin 2 get more info..tx guys:thumb:
