Im hoping im allowed to post a thread like this, if not go ahead and lock it.

Anyway my buddy has quite a few turbos laying around and there is one thats larger then most of the others (others are 1g and 2g stock turbos and some honda turbos) so if we can use this turbo on my car and get it on there cheap it would be cool to do untill further upgrading.

Anyway I had him go take me some pictures, if you guys need better pictures or things taken off and pictures of specific areas let me know and ill try to get them later tonight after work....

I havent really looked at it up close, but it needs to be cleaned up a bit.

lets see what we can come up with....sorry if the pictures are too big/small.

Seeing as sr20 did not come with t-25...

SR20DET came with t-28...

Whatever it is do not put it on any car before you clean that ugly shit up

I don't know what turbo it is... but I'm just correcting the poster above me.

sorry jesse but almost all the sr20's came w/ a t25 only the s15 sr20 had the t28. anyway back to the actual topic.. looks like a t3 from chrysler 2.5 in the daytonas and whatever else they put that motor in.

i beleive it is made by chrysler so you could be right on a dayday turbo.

wonder how much it flows hehe, but the bolt patterns dont match up so it might be a pain to do it, if possible.

and yea we have all the equipment to make it look like new again, just gotta do it.

I'm not going to start a argument but thats what local shops have told me who specialize in 240sx's mainly SR20DET swaps... and thats what turbo came off a sr20DET (not s15) that my buddy is putting onto his GZE corolla swap.

Anyways back on topic :p

I suggest you just put a 14b turbo and not guess if that turbo is going to be worth the install that will prolly run you into some weird problems/trouble... you will feel a 20hp gain over t hen t-25 if you upgrade to a 14b... (assuming the turbo is in good shape obviously)

Happy Boosting!

check the bolt pattern on the back end, 4 bolt T3, then it's likely a T3 50 trim from an 84-87 Turbo I Chrysler- .48 A/R turbine housing, in bad need of a turbine wheel upgrade, not too far from a 14B in comp flow, but not worth it.
If it's from a 2.5L - it would be a mitsu, they supplied turbos that didn't LAG so bad in the 88-9X cars- they would be tiny, horrible flow. The TurboII recieved a T3 50 trim but it didn't have the bolt on inlet pipe, but a more standard nipple style.
The TurboIII cars weren't anything amazing on the turbo side (though I think they used the Maserati 4 valve head, whereas the TurboIV cars used the VNT turbos instead.

I beleive it had a 4 bolt pattern.

so it would be a 50 trim just flow like crap compared to todays turbos and not be worth it?

Not going to say it would flow like total crap - comparable to a 14B in most respects- I think they max a bit after 275WHP. I've known them to run around 110 traps at a high enough boost- with a good setup of course.

The Super60 is common upgrade, but either way you'd want the 2.5" swingvalve housing (O2 housing) and a MUCH better turbine wheel.

There is also Super70's and they run the stock comp wheel from a GN I think... anyway, you can upgrade them pretty easily... but in the long run, TD05 or TD06 :D

so should I basically just put a 1G turbo on there and leave it alone untill im ready for a real 50+ trim setup?
