As the title says. I never had a EVAP purge solenoid in my car, and this is in the general area, could that be it?

I did tell you that it needed to be bolted to the front case over a month ago. Going back and reading what you wrote, it makes more sense to me what you wanted and I'm sorry we weren't able to get on the same page.

Yes I remember us talking about that, but I just figured it was something rather irrelevant so I ignored it til now. But regardless, even if I figured it out back then I'd still have to remove my timing cover. I guess it isn't THAT big of a deal though, I've heard it takes about 30 minutes to remove the cover, so it should only take me about... eh, 2 hours. It could be worse though. Glad I caught it now.

sucks man! next time try to be more organized, it helps to realize parts that still need to go back on are still on the table and such. good luck.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Yeah it was definitely somewhat sloppy, being my first rebuild, in my driveway, with very limited tools.

But hey, I learned a whole lot about my car in the process and I'm proud I got this far myself with what I had. This will just be one more hurdle I can use to gain knowledge from, for that I'm sure there will be much more to come LOL.

On a side note, is there anything in particular I should keep in mind when putting this thing on?

its not that bad. if motor is in the car. jack it up on the drivers side. remove the crank pulley, water pump pulley and all 10 mil bolts holding the cover on. get a quarter inch rachet with a shallow 10mm socket and two shallow 10mm bolts to install the sensor. and you can pull the cover back without completely taking it off.
