A friend of mine just picked up a N/A 6-bolt 4G63 for 30 bucks and wants to rebuild it for his turbo talon. Should we have the holes drilled and machined to install the jets? Or just leave them out. What are the pros and cons of running with and without the jets. I can't see anything positive to running without them beside maybe higher oil pressure. For those of you that are running without them how is that going? Thanks for the help, Kevin.

I just had a post about this subject, but didn't really get any good information.

I decided to omit them.

From what I found, it seems those that run forged slugs leave them off. In my case, to machine the pads/drill/tap was $100 for the machine work + $125 for the 1G rod mods to fit the 2G pistons + $150 for the 2G pistons/rings = $375.

You can get forged slugs for $350-400 with rings, and you don't need to modify the rods, OR have the squirters installed. I don't like ot have lots of machine work done, the less the better. Saves money, AND doesn't allow someone else to screw something up.

Ever been to a machinist that screwed up a motor, and tried to get them to fix it? LOL ROFL ROFL

i herd if your going to use forged pistons and rods you shouldnt need them. i didnt hear anything about a stock rebuild and eliminating them tho. lots of people run these blocks because their isnt a chance one of the oil squiters get brittle and break in your engine.

hope that hleps

I have heard of people pulling apart high mileage 4G63's and finding an oil squirter or two in the oil pan. :notgood: Why is it that you don't have to run squirters with forged pistons?
