i have a 1992 plymouth laser rs and i am having some major knock problems.
i have installed a tmo datalogger (ebay) while logging i get like 43counts of knock.
I was told to change the knock sensor and i still have the same problem( THE OLD ONE WAS SHOT)
anyone know what else i can try?

the car has a 3in turboback exhaust, evo 8 560cc and fmic, 255 pump, dsmchips stage 3,afc, boost controller, 2g mas and hard piping.

What do your O2 voltages look like?
What is your base timing set at?
How much advance are you getting on your runs?
Fuel octane?
Does the knock go away at lower boost?

More info is needed.

The o2 are 85v 86v
not sure whats the bse timing
93 octane
it knocks in neutral if i rev up sometimes and even if i am not in boost just crusing it knocks sometimes
i would say it knocks 6 out of 10 times off and on

i got the same problem. mine knocks when idling. i got my timing fixed, but it sill knocks. i already lost boost and everytime floor it(A/T) it dosent feel as good as it used too

The knock sensor in our cars detects metalic noise. If you have engine noise that is loud enough that can cause the car to think it is knock. If the lifters are making enough noise, they can cause this. There also could be a problem with the ecu where it is reading knock when there isn't any, or a wiring problem that would cause the same thing.

The only wiring I have done in the car is afc and the 2g mas. I know the afc is correct. Could it be that the 2g mas is wired up wrong? The ecu just got new caps and a dsmchips stage 3.
