ok heres my problem, my pully tensioner seems to loosen up over time ( every 2-3 days), giving the timing belt too much slack, which is bad, what could be a cause of this? i dont have balance shafts soo can the vibrations be loosening the bolt? sorry if this is hard to read i am in a rush thanks

I've noticed a ton of things vibrating loose after a BSE job on my car. I use3 to use loc-tite on most things, now i have to use it on everything. Try some blue loc-tite (medium strength) DO NOT use the red or permanent strength as it is PERMANENT! (unless you want to heat teh bolts with a torch to remove them next time anyway :)

Sounds like the threads might be damaged though too, look at the bolts to make sure they haven't deformed or stretched out. That could cause them to repeatedly loosen as well.

ok, that seems to help. yes i am using a torque wrench to 45 ft lbs, but i never threw on loctite, thank god you told me to use my blue instead of my red! because i almost threw red on there. thanks for the clarrification guys! im going to remove it, throw on some blue locktite and torque down to 40ft-lbs!
