So I just got started in the art of D.I.Y powder coating.
I had on hand an old green-top cas, so I decided to powder-coat it A nice metallic red.
Also along the way I discovered A good replacement for the cas seal [they almost are always brittle or cracked] I ended up using an assortment of water neck o'rings, they were in the help section at my local auto-parts store.
Below is some pictures of my work, please feel free to critique it.
I'm kinda a beginner, so don't expect the "Mona Lisa" of the powder-coating world to emerge LOL.

Thanks for all the replies guys,

I like it. Are you planning on doing a theme for the engine bay?
I was thinking on going with a kind of black and red theme, but nothing is engraved in stone or anything, I might go with another color.

I already powder-coated my homemade Hyundai valve cover cop spark plug cover the same metallic red color, I'll post pictures of it later.

Looks awesome! Let me know when you want me to ship you a intake, valve cover and a few other small things to be coated LOL

Good work! I like to powder-coat my own parts as-well, (and you can make some good money doing some local's parts.) Is that red a single or two stage coat?

Also, what color red is that if you don't mind sharing?

Thanks everyone.
Yeah It's a single stage, but I will eventually dabble with the dual stage coating flakes, I just wanted to see what the end result would be before diving in.

I'm glad I talked with the folks at Progressive powder-coating before tackling this little project, they gave me some tips, and pointers for beginning this art.

I really gotta say, I like the concept of powder-coating...
If I could go back in time to a younger me, I'd yell "drop the spray can!" LOL And then, I'd tell younger me to get into this instead.
It has so many applications and It looks totally freaking awesome[when applied right].

Oh and the color is a Metallic red, I'm not sure what brand made it, but I was told it was high quality.
