Hello! I finally sat down and pretty much planned out all of the performance modifications that I want to do. I followed the guide and this is what I came up with. I separated it into smaller stages so I could more easily see which is most important. If you know of any parts that could be subsituted for a different brand possibly, or a place where I can get the part cheaper then please say so! Also, If you feel that some of the things more towards the bottom of the list are more important then feel free to tell me, I would like it to progress smooth as possible. Getting the most needed things first!

Thank you all in advance,
Anthony

ACT Xtreme (2600) Clutch Kit + Flywheel #17051

an extreme clutch isn't necessary, a good stage 2 clutch that cost around $350 is more than enough to handle the torque and HP from a DSM unless you're gonna dish a lot of money (tens of thousands of dollars). and i would not suggest the flywheel because if you have a heavier flywheel, it keeps your turbo spooled longer for a more constant boost. when you buy a lighter flywheel your turbo isn't in boost as long. take it into consideration, it might save you some money and make your car a bit quicker.

Whered you hear that? Thats sounds like BS to me. The rotation of your crankshaft is not directly related to how long your turbo stays spooled up.

Anyways, the flywheel is not a bad idea. It will take some getting used to as your RPMs will drop more quickly during shifting.

Thanks! Is there anything that you think could be substituted for something cheaper? Or anything near the top that isn't as important as maybe something more towards the bottom?

mmmaybe replace that A/f gauge with an EGT gauge. Also shop around i THINK there are sites on here that have the apexi intercooler cheaper.

its there for a reason...do it in order it appears cant go wrong...but all the prices look about right
and for the money since your goin so high end on everything look at an Apexi AVC r or greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller...worth it believe me

I didn't realize I was going so high end. Is there anything could be swapped out for a cheaper variant?

I'd go with the B&M for about $50 more...I've only heard good things about it and have personally had a good experience with it while I've heard nothing but horror stories from the pace setter shifter. Take it for what it's worth. Good luck on your build up.

Good god, what in the hell are you babbling about? Flywheels and spooling?

Thank you! It does look to be much better quality, I originally wanted it but the Pace Setter was cheaper, guess the B&M is worth the money :)

its only basic math that if you have a heavier flywheel your engine stays at a higher rpm longer because there's more weight to slow down/speed up. its like the gravitational pull from the sun to the earth. if you don't have as much weight on the flywheel spinning your engine doesn't stay in boost rpm's as long therefore you lose boost. simple. but hell, you don't have to listen to me, its your money. i'm just sayin if you're racing, there's no need to gain RPM's any faster when you're already hitting redline anyways.... use the extra $400 or however much it was gonna cost and put it into a turbo =D :dsm:

I thing a 1g BOV can hold up too like 22 psi ( not sure ) , you can get one for cheap , just a suggestion .

if your going to get all that , why not get a 20g or something a bit bigger , for like 300-400 more .

please don't buy anything with 'pace setter' written on it , I would only put that shit on my tercel , if I got it for free .

looks about right , don't think I would put that much money on a car , but you'll have somethin nice :)

Thank you all for your input so far, still need more so keep it coming!

Thanks again,
Anthony :talon:

Well what are your goals for your car? daily driven? Track only? Autox? rally? drag? dyno queen? etc. So far it looks like a nice build up, but it really depends on what your final destination is.
