My new JDM mill installed. It's a twin cam 1.8, 6Bolt. Revs like crazy, tops out at 130mph+. I removed balance shafts. Have cold air box, K&N, Borla SS header, nitrous, etc...

Nope. The 4G67 is an 1836cc engine that came from an E35A Galant 4G67 Galant

Same engine as I have in my car. Very happy with it.

then why does it have the same valve cover at the 4g63? the 4g37's ive seen have had a different valve cover

Yup. The 4G63 (2.0l), 4G67 (1.8l), and 4G61 (1.6l) have the same valve cover.

The 4G67 is different from the 4G37. HTH. Peace.

I actually think the 4g63 cover though says on it 2000 i believe... and i don't see it on this one.

That's pretty Effing cool. It makes as much power as the 1G 4G63 NT as well. I want one.

But I have to ask - if you had a 2.0 before, why did you go to a 1.8? I could understand it if it had been a 4G37 before....

I got the motor through A1JDMengines.com. The guy sent me the wrong motor. The 4G63 and 4G67 are identical, so I don't blame him for sending me the wrong one. I only noticed because I saw the block code when I was modding it. I think it revs harder then the 63 but lacks the low end torque, regardless they are pretty close and it's a fun little motor, with barely no miles on it.

Yup. The only difference between the 4G63 and 4G67 is bore/piston size. Everything else is the same.

4G63 = 145/160hp (crank) (The 160hp mill is AMG tuned)
4G67 = 135hp (crank)

You don't see it on this one because it's a JDm cover, the JDM valve cover says "16 Valve" as opposed to the 2000.

94sohc- It would be the same swap as a 4G63, the block, motor mounts, tranny, etc. are all the same, the only difference is the bore. I imagine it would be a total pain to do it.

link doesnt work.........what are the horsepower/torque ratings for this engine?

Correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't the 4g63 in n/a form only have 135hp?

Ralliart gs- Nice setup, always good to see something different. I think your car looks pretty
clean. :thumb:

Engine type 4G67 1800 DOHC 16 valve water cooled in-line 4
Bore x stroke (mm) 81.5 X 88.0
Engine displacement (cc) 1836
Compression ratio 9.2
Maximum output (PS / rpm) 135 / 6300
Maximum torque (kg * m / rpm) 16.2 / 4500

ok ummmm.......correct me if i am wrong and i know for a fact and hands on that i am right.....isnt the 4g37 just a 1.8 block with a 2.0 head????

i know the 2.0 head will fit on the 1.8 block i have done it!!!!!

now one other thing they say the block "V's" up to the head...nope the head angles to the block thats how i found this all out but with the original question ....am i correct in thinkin that???

pretty sure there's nothing to distinguish between valve covers on a the 4g63 and 4g67. Here's my valve cover and the only difference is the mitsubishi symbol on the top.
