Cam gears, you mean? I wouldn't unless you have a seriously built engine. They are WORTHLESS on anything but a fully built powertrain. Don't bother.

Shut up 91 nt eclipse, you have no clue what you are talking about. Cam gears can be put on anytime you want, you can always see a gain with them, with the right tuning. The reason you can get a gain is from advancing the timing.

You're an idiot. Cam gears on a mostly stock NT is going to net you 3hp, MAYBE with EXTENSIVE tuning. At least know what you're talking about next time, you're a moron.

hey 91 nt eclipse is that why import tuner got 8 hp to the wheels of an rs in the power pages with just cam gears?? they can get you much more than just 3whp if tuned right. maybe you should know what the f*ck you're talking about before you go spouting off your mouth about s#it!! just an idea though...

You people are absolutely amazing. Ask this guy if he has a dyno in his back yard. Ask him if he's ever advanced his timing before. Yep, that's what I thought. He, specifically, won't get a gain like that unless he pays some schmuck for dyno/tuning time. Then, he'll have sunk $500 into 6hp. Wouldn't that be awesome? Why don't you two do us all a favor and never reproduce. You're polluting the planet solely by your existence.

cam gears will net you some gains, however unless you have other mods to go along with them...you won't get much. Personally I would hold off on getting them unless you found them for almost nothing. Depending on your current mods I would suggest an intake, exhaust, under drive pully, jeep tb..then build up the head. But for the price of the cam gears and tuning you would yield mre with the UDP and jeep TB.

i agree with 91 NT Eclipse,they are'nt worth it unless you want to spend a few hours on the dyno, tuning. even then you won't get a substantial gain without further mods,like a ported head,different cams,big turbo,ETC. its basically a rice move to put them on whats a mostly stock car,the only thing i see coming from that is good looks with the cam gear cover off.

It's not that hard to advance or retard timing. I believe on a n/t it's usually 0 intake, +4 exhaust.... correct me if I'm wrong. Plus, they look pretty with the cover off.

you can get some decent HP out of them, but like they say, you have to know what your doing, or be willing to spend a lot of time trial and error, go for an underdrive pulley instead IMO, until you get a pretty highly built motor, though if I were you I would just save up for a turbo kit, everything else can come after
