He has more in his engine than I have in my whole car. Thus the nickname "cash cow".
 :toobad: uhh no. the cash cow came from someone talking about all the money i could make street racing. i just went along with it :rocks:

well guys i gotta say its been fun. i refuse to be a part of this politically correct, hand holding, ridiculously incompetent site any longer. its gotten to the point where you cant mis spell a werd or crack a joke without getting a thread locked. thats no way to spread knowledge so ill go somewhere thats a little bit more open to being a real person and not some automaton. heres the link to the continuing saga of "lil hemi". http://buschurforums.com/forum/showthread.php?p=53364#post53364

Wow, where did that come from. I figured that most of the serious guys in here appreciate the fact that we're forcing people to use proper grammar in the tech forums. Here in the Hangout (and in this thread) it's not such a big deal. It's too bad too, as I was really looking forward to seeing this project progress. I'm sure other members are going to miss out too.

Agreed. Then again, they teach you in school how to spell, use punctuation and grammar.

I guess some people are too damned lazy. Anyways, next?

well boys, were back in business. no harm no foul. words were had with ludachris and it looks like the winds of change are blowing. ill have some more pics up soon so dont touch that dial!!

If I may.

Success in here is in part based upon accurate communications. We cannot see the cars we are trying to help you with, therefore we have only have your description to base a decision on. Sometimes I read posts and after reading I have no idea what they are saying.

I do want to help, but sometimes I pass by posts that have horrible grammar and web speak. In order to give you an exacting precise diagnosis, I have to have an exacting and precise description. It all plays together.

Personally I don't care if it's in a non technical forum. However, I have to agree to precision in the technical forums.

This is as much for your good as mine. Just remember that we really are trying to help you.

And a final thought. People do judge you by the way you speak. Job interviews, applying for a loan, etc. I can assure you that you only have one chance to make a first impression on someone. Make it a good one. Your chances of success are much greater than if you are perceived as illiterate.
If you cannot spell, and some people can't, there's a spell check button at the bottom of the screen. I use it all the time.

Thanks

I never had any problem understanding Peregrine's posts and never thought of him as one of those mAd Tyte OMG! whut r u doin 2 teh ingin kind of guys. So it was a shock to come here and see him pissed off by someone and the thread closed. His actions speak quite a bit louder then words to me and I have enjoyed watching the project progress.

Maybe some posts were deleted but I thought all the "heat" was some inside joking coming from his "friends" that live near him, so I just skipped over those, not taking them seriously.

I'm glad everything seems to have been smoothed over.

i dont think theyre talking about me. ive never typed like that. the only thing i dont do is capitalize and use punctuation. i could but i can type faster without doing that stuff. all this bullshit came from defiant closing a thread that i was interested in. one of those nights i guess.

My only request is that in the Tech forums, you at least attempt to use capitalization and punctuation. We can all type faster without it, but it just makes things look more respectable in the Tech forums - which is important in my opinion. And it sets a good example for the newbies when long-time members like yourself take a couple extra seconds to make your post look more respectable. When I see all lower case and no punctuation, I immediately picture a 14 year old kid typing, not an experienced DSMer.

Now, enough of the off topic babble, let's hear more about the project!

Ya, speaking of projects, I heard you arent gonna be able to stop this thing, so I guess it doent matter how fast it is. You should have bought the hub kit a long time ago. What are you waiting for?

you took it out of context when i said there's no stopping the colt ;)

well, got it all runing and stuff. drove it home. set up my extra comoputer in my garage, uploaded dsmlink and got it to idle like a champ. took it out for a small test drive around the block. took her up to about 5500 rpm and about 12 psi just to see what it felt like. felt good then it kind of popped and layed over. no big deal, a little rich. just needs to be tuned. took her home and as im pulling into the driveway i hear a strange noise. WTF?!?!? its coming from my tranny. i get under there and inspect everything. i thought maybe a flexplate bolt backed out. i didnt see anything until i scraped my hand over a rough piece of the tranny. then i found it.

dont ask me how this happened. its beyond me. its getting welded up this week and hopefully goign back in this weekend. i had to pull the intake manifold to get to the tranny bolts but that was easy. its a whole hell of alot easier to pull this tranny than an awd tranny let me tell ya. took me about 2 hours just screwing around trying to think of easier ways to do it.:p oh well. at least it wasnt motor related or internal on the tranny. could have been alot worse. the car is really really driveable. now that the timing is set it seems to spool fairly quickly and pulls decent for not being tuned. as soon as the tranny is back in ill get some tuning on it and post the weight of the car.

I hope its dry this weekend. I may go play race cars this weekend.

Well, I'm not sure if I've posted in this thread or not. I definately have been reading it though. Once you get the tranny welded up, you MUST dyno that thing and video tape it and the ride after ;). I have 56k so I would take the 800 hours to download it. I thinks its worth it that much. Some WOT vid on the street.

not for nothing, but to me it sounds like there may not have been enough rigidity at the rear tranny mount. No doubt you did a terrific job on it, so that leaves one other option....mmmuuuuuahahahahaaahahahaahhaaa.....:thumb: I want to see a time slip ASAP:rocks:

What have you done? I have personally driven low 10 second cars that had stock TH350's that never managed to do that.WTF Let me know when its back up, I want to see the wheels hanging over city streets. You know, like mine, just much nicer:D

Wow!OMG This is an insane project vehicle, scarily beautiful even. Is it actually going to be road legal?
I'm new to this site and have been looking around the web for info on the colt's of old. I've got 4 of these in the back yard, here's a link to the original one I restored if anyones interested ( www.fotothing.com/speedyrr ). I've contemplated some serious modification for one of the other cars but nothing like this, but there's some inspiration here.
I'm from New Zealand by the way.
The other colts I have are the GTO's, one has a sirius dash 4g63 12valve turbo motor in it from a '85 fwd Sigma GSR, but thats not even close to this car, it's just nuts ROFL but a big:thumb: for doing it. I know a few people down here that will love to see this project information and pics, and I'll be passing this on to them.
Keep up the great work!
