how bout some pics of it in your drive way and some video of the camera on the dash or something (i wanna see the road ahead)? I dont care if it is a silent movie ;) just seeing how fast it accelerates would be nice. :thumb:
its gonna be a little bit. the only thing i half assed on the whole car ws the tranny. guess what let loose this weekend?:toobad: ive got the hookup for a full race built tranny i just need to get my parts. the new tranny will be pretty gnarly with a transbrake. when that thing goes back in ill get a silent acceleration video. i could take some pics of my driveway with a huge atf stain on it. LOL

I just spotted this thread and i've got to say it's refreshing to see someone actually go the whole way through a project like this. Good job man! And congrats on a well built car!! :thumb:

One time I was changing the oil on my Lebaron and I screwed the oil filter on crooked. It screwed tight, but from where I was I couldn't see that I did it the wrong way. Well, long story short, I started the car and *glurp glurp glurp* all over the garage floor. about 30 bucks worth of mobile one all over the place :(

Another time, when I had my spirit, my cousin and I were changing the tranny fluid. Well, with the tranny cooler, it goes through the radiator, and its reverse the way it goes in. It goes in from the bottom and out through the top (in seperate inlet tubes). Well, to flush the system, my cousin had to pour fluid in, while i got ready to turn the car off. Second I turn the car on fluid goes spraying EVERYWHERE cause we had the bottom hose disconnected so we could drain the fluid. Few quarts of ATF +3 all over the floor, the engine bay, and my cousin.

Fun times, it happens "live and learn" i guess.

got all my tranny parts together today. i also took off my valve cover and repainted it because it was ratty looking. i found some red paint with a wrinkle finish. it looks pretty good. reminescent of the ls6 stuff. hopefully ill be driving it again by the end of february.

im not sure with this tranny. maybe around 20 MPG max. im not too worried about fuel economy though:p

peregrine,
I'm kinda curious about your intercooler/piping. Why did you have the inlet/outlet positioned the way they are? It looks like you have some serious bends going on. A little smaller radiator with the intercooler inlet/outlet at the top would have made for much simpler and straighter piping. Please don't take offense. This is one of the most bad ass projects I've ever witnessed. I was just left wondering.

smaller radiator = less cooling capacity. id rather give a up a few horses and be able to idle in traffic if i need to.

Its pretty fast for 12psi and pump gas. I dont think making power will be an issue. Getting it to leave hard is the issue I see.

After looking at the photos again I realized you wouldn't need a smaller radiator to make that work. Your inlet/outlet are fine in conjunction with your radiator. I was just curious why not have them higher up so the piping is more of a straight shot in and out. I'm just wondering. I'm curious about the design of your intercooler and piping setup.

I wish my project (a.k.a. daily driver) was this cool! :thumb:

my headlights are in the way. the inlet/outlet is as high as i could get it. trust me everything was well thought out long before i did anything.

That makes total sense now. Thanks for answering my strange questions.

I didn't doubt that for a second. I was just curious to the method behind the madness.

well i exchanged my 10" rims for some 8" and went with a different offset so i could slam the car in the back with no rubbing. stock josh came over and we jacked it up and lowered the coilovers down. heres what it looks like.

its sitting high in the front as the tranny is out of it still. im waiting on a transbrake from trans king in texas. they had to custom build it for me. it should be back on the road by the end of the month. i have 5 gallons of c16 in the garage and im getting a boost controller somethime soon so i plan on running around 25 psi to see how it does with that.

Hey man, when you get that running an din the area, lemme know, I want my dad to see it, and feel it... so that he'll let me put a 2.3 stroker in the challenger. He doesn't think the motor will have enough oomph for a challenger... and his 383 that's in it only has 400 horses...

all i can say is damnnn, Iv'e read this thread from page 1 taking an hour and a half and this thing is such a beast ive spent bout 4k on mine but most of that was to get it running b/c the car was beat to piss...but id just love to know some numbers on that car and also how did you manage to make enough $$ to save for it,Now i make 400/week salary and put as much as i can into my daily driver but itll be no where as near to yours EVER
