My new GSX is burning oil! i think.

Hey guys....just picked up a 1995 black auto gsx with a k03/05 turbo....has fmic upper and lower ic pipes, and aftermarket exhaust. On startup the car runs good, and pulls stronnggg but and starts to sputter once warmed up and stinks of burning oil. After a 30 minute drive a HUGE cloud of smoke is following me and people are looking around at the traffic lights.....

Its currently parked as Im trying to resolve this issue. There is also a ticking noise but that may be the lifters/something rattling...havent gotten that far, hoping for the best...

Can you advise me where to start? I was told to check for shaft play aswell as the valve seals are shot. Is this motor toast? should I just drop a new 4g63 in?

I bought it for 1300 bucks, bod is pristine, only the front bumper is peeling a little.

Note...** the motor starts up perfect, and when boosting, is an animal.....the sputtering happens at high boost, but when reading my boost guage only says im hitting 5lbs then drops....

now the cars burning oil again. smells like burnt hell. only at idle, i did beat on it tonight and it is raining. check engine is on p0700 transmission and oil light comes on when I accelerate, what the hell is going on with this car, i threw some lucas oil in there when I fist bought it, is it possible it burned off? is the rain lying to me and am I just seeing the oil burning because of it? it freaking stinks

first when I bought it it burned oil, then it didnt, now it does. this car is nuts.

idles is wacky again but I am still high on the oil gonna drain first thing tommorow im running out of options, luckily i got 4700 from taxes, worst comes to worst im dropping the motor for a rebuild. ive freaking had it.

didnt you say you got an oil change? as to what the problem is, you know have me guessing

im so lost. Yes I did an oil change, but the dipstick was broken so the mechanic over filled it. I beat on it before I got home. Started smokin a bit. started again and drove around, smokes more. keep driving seems to be getting better.

im getting some shut-eye, hopefully itll just go away haha.

going to drain the extra oil start it and see what happens in the morning. until then I dont care, its just a project car goosfrabah

Word of advice, stop beating on it until ALL your maintenance is up to date.

Also, there no need to drop the motor for a rebuild if that's not the problem. You need to diagnose the car and truly find the problem and then make a game plan.

Its easy to get frustrated. So step back from the situation, take a deep breath and start with one thing at a time.

well put yeah im going to take it to get a diagnostic.

I did all the maintenance and the car ran fine, now after gettin on it it smokes. It only smokes this bad in the rain.

Heres the deal

compression wet test wot warm motor

205 210 210 205

compression dry test wot warm motor

189 185 183 185


so like I said motor is good, im thinking turbo crapped out

only smokes at idle, smells like oil and is blue, also oil in intercooler pipe fitting, havent removed intercooler yet to see.

Keep an eye on your spark plug valley for oil, and replace the plugs too
