Where do I start?

I got my talon with pretty much no interior. After 3 month of having nothing fuzzy to put my feet on, no door panels, ate up steering wheel, I decided to get creative and just make driving a little more enjoyable. First 3 shots were from a cell phone, the rest are from a digital camera so quality is better.

I hit up the junk yard and bought a lot of interior parts, with my luck there was only 1 2g dsm in there, and it's 2 tone turbo ;). I liked the black and grey scheme so I spray painted the top flat black...

These pics show the progress of laying everything out, from the paint to the carpet, pretty cool.. :

Not COMPLETELY done, got some wires to hide and a couple interior parts missing, but man this makes a difference!

Good job man.

I'm in the same situation as you, except that I haven't driven the car like that. I got my GST pretty cheap and the interior needs a lot of work. So far I've gotten all the replacement panels for the ones that were missing. I just need to replace the carpet and I'll be picking up my leather seats this weekend.

Here's a pic of how the interior looks right now.:sosad:

B&M short shifter. Nice find. Are there Symborski shifter base bushings on there too?

Note to everyone: Watch the pic sizes. Ranger, you're a tad large, so you may want to use links instead of pics unless you can resize them to under 700 pixels wide.

K, Give me till morning to resize all the pics according to standards... please. :)

As for the bushings, I'd have to wait till morning to see. What do they look like? I'm sure as long as it isn't rubber it's aftermarket.

They look like thick metal discs, stainless steel, judging by the weight of them. One set has a machined lip on the inside to fit inside the shifter base plate. The stockers are standard black rubber bushings with a metal sleeve inside. If you want to complete the shifting upgrade, check out the Symborski kit, or I think Prothane or Energy Supsension has urethane bushings, which are a little softer than the Symborski's, but firmer than stock.

Alright, here's another angle of the shot I took way earlier when it was disassembled.

Tough to tell. You can only see one base plate bolt in that pic, but it does look like there's a metal washer or something under it.

last shot I took.. if you can't tell I guess I'll have to wait till morning like I said earlier, but hey, thanks for the help!

You should paint the cup holder/ash tray combo. It really sticks out being grey around everything that is black. Same goes for the inserts int he dash: a/c vents, cruise/power window controls etc. Other than that nice job and its coming a long nicely.

Be thankful you have the talon cloth seats and not the eclipse cloth seats, those have that elephant print on them, freakin nasty!

Damn Ricky, your interior looks dirty as hell. Man, I wish I was down there to help you with the project.

P.S. They made me a newbie for the day.

Exactly what I was thinking. Paint that cupholder/ashtray. Although I would just get on from a black interior car. Just clean it up also. From the pictures, it looks like the interior is really dirty. Although I'm sure you havent gotten to that step yet.

The interior looked really awful in the before pics. I think the interior looks great now. I personally like how the vents are grey I think it ties the interior together really well with the grey carpet. If I could make a suggestion, you might want to consider getting some new seats in there or at least getting them shampood and that will really brighten it up. But great job :thumb: :thumb:

I wish I had cloth seats. #### leather.

Oh really? If you were local, I have 2 DSMers who would gladly trade with you. They would even do the labor of swapping it.

You will find it easy to get what you want when what you have to trade are 95 GSX leather seats, with power driver seat, and I believe only the 95s maybe the 96s have the preforated look to it, which looks much sportier than the others.

Ha, I didnt know that the whole "power driver seat, manual passenger seat" actually came like that from the factory. I assumed the previous owner sold one or something, plus there is a whole mess of wires under my passenger seat which I have yet to figure out.

Shampoo the seats? Hmm, might consider that.

Here's a daytime pic, there's a puddle in the drivers side floor, it's from the rain..

looking alot better Ranger! Im looking forward to going all black interior someday also.

I also agree on the grey part of the center console sticks out a little to much IMO.

On the puddle on the floor board (i got that too)

the white wire should be parking lights

Parking lights? It's connected to the alarm so ... you sure?

Hey buddy ^ thanks for the compliment.. It makes me feel a lot better when I did something others appreciate. Hope I motivated some ppl in here to get on that horse and clean up that interior. Gotta ball it out... :thumb:

The grey ashtray...I figure it'd look good with the whole black and grey scheme, It will look good painted black but that's in debate.. I'll post more pics soon.

FYI>>>that mess of wires under the passanger seat should be where the stock amp for the speakers used to be.
