Well,I've seen a lot of great builds on here and they really inspired me to push myself. So here I am,looking to share what I can with all my fellow DSMers.
I have a 99 GST that I purchased off my uncle when his motor died. He sold me the car and some parts for 1500. He knew I always wanted this car and this car ONLY. No other DSM. HIS. So he did me the favor and handed it down to me for a great price. Especially considering the condition it was in. He was the only owner and took great care of it. Kept it clean and maintained by the dealership. Never drove it hard or pushed it. Kept it stock. Still smells new from the inside.
I have the bumper and fenders off at this point. Due to working on the car with these parts on,I'll most likely be buying a new bumper and match the paint. It's still in good condition but I rather pay for a new bumper with paint job than to pay the same amount on just some touch up paint job. I've been working on the fuse box relocation tuck and have gotten most wires into the interior. I really don't like the fuse box in the glove box look,so I'll probably be mounting it somewhere else. maybe under the steering wheel or in the passenger area somehow. The only issue I have right now is the fact that I have to extend just a few wires and I'm not to confident with the fact that I can choose the right gauge and quality wire. That's really my only hold up.
Other than my fuse tuck, I might be hitting up the junkyard sometime soon to get an extra engine harness to work on doing another tuck. Besides that I'm really looking to keep everything like a/c and power steering. Pretty much keeping this car stock and only upgrading to a bigger turbo that will give me room to grow with in the future. Won't be doing anything with the turbo right now other than just keeping the stock power and when I have the money to buy internals, push it how I want. Here are the pics I've got
