im not sure what you guys mean by ur o2 readings because i have 2 o2 readings:
02 1bank 1
02 2 bank 1

im not sure what one is the one you guys talk about when you guys list ur o2's, im thinking its the 1 bank or 2 bank, so i'll just list both of them.

i don't understand why my timing is so low when i go full throttle, and then it climbs back up to normal as i get to the higher rpms. no matter how much fuel i give it its still like that (im tuning with a gm translator). and i think im running rich as of what my 02 sensors are telling me, im just not sure which one i should be looking at. and im running on +93 pump octane. please let me know what i can do.

The timing Dips down to 9ish when you go WOT...thats what it does :thumb:

It Looks like your running really rich(the #1 bank o2 is the important one)

And also you never go 100% throttle, you might wanna look into that.

i don't understand, if im running rich, then why is my timing dipping? and yes, i know my tps isn't at 100, i've just been lazy lately. what can i do to solve my timing problem? would a fuel pump rewire help? im on the stock wires right now. :thumbdown

if that's what timing does (and im assuming ur saying that its normal) then how come when i check out other people's logs on here, it doesn't seem to do that. and so my other question is, is my timing dangerous right now? because i looks like i should be leaning it out, and i don't want to lean it out any, if my timing is too low, as of what i can see, it just looks like it dips right when i got WOT, then it gradually and smoothly climbs back up to about 20.

As far as I know, if you are running really rich, that will cause knock too. And even though O2 readings aren't the greatest thing to tune with, they do seem to indicate you are running quite a bit rich. So if you're running so rich that you're knocking, that will cause the ECU to pull timing too.

yep you are running VERY rich and you are getting a little bit of knock from that. Your O2 sensor 1 should be around .92 IMO. I know the O2 isn't the best way to tune, but try and set your O2 1 for around .92 and see what the timing does then. Your timing is supposed to go down to 8-9 or so when you start hitting boost ... and then you want it to smoothly and steadily increase.

everytime im building boost, my timing will go down to about 9-11 then it will gradually go to about 18-21. what ur saying is that, it is normal and healthy for it to do that right? doesn't 9-11 mean that im knocking though?

then how do you know if ur knocking or not? if there's dips?

If it there was knock, your timing would be dropping as you headed towards redline. You may be getting knock (under 7 counts of knock), but it's not affecting your timing at that count. It looks as though you might be able to try leaning it out a little bit. Lean it out a little bit at a time and log a run after each time. Until your ECU starts pulling timing, you should be able to keep leaning it out safely.

With lower injector duty the computer will raise timing.

Incorrect, the computer will raise timing becuase it will be seeing alot less airflow because you are compensating for the larger injectors with the S-AFC

Yes thats how ths SAFC tricks the ECU by changing the air flow read out. But the ECU raises the timing based on the injector duty. I was having a problem with my TPS and the ECU was being tricked into thinking I was running around at 2/3 throttle when I barely had the thing open at all. The ECU was dumping gads of full in and the timing went way down.

i know it sounds stupid but make sure your floor mat hasn't slid under the gas pedal.....that maybe why you don't ever hit 100% throttle

it happened to me(don't laugh) :p

if it isn't that, have someone look at your throttle position sensor

also i suggest you learn how to use your datalogger with all the tuning mods set to stock
