my first 2g project!!

I have had 2g other turbo dsms and Im driving a 2g non turbo right now. But I picked this car up for a good deal (I think) I was told it had a 6 bolt motor but found out it is a 1g 7 bolt so small let down but I can work with it.. when I got the car to my friends performance shop we did a compression test and found out again that the motor needs to be rebuilt.

This is going to be one he'll of a build....

My plans for the car is ....

3. Hx 35 turbo set up

I know im leaving out alot more that im going to do but I will come back to that as the parts start coming together.

Started pulling vacuum lines out that I will not need, also pulled out the wiring harness so I can go though it to make sure that the harness is good!!



i started swaping my interior out of my other car (because it is tan) and i plan on picking up a black dash from a local junkyard soon (out of a 2gnt) to complete the interior swap. and before yall say somthing, i know that the gauge cluster out of a 2gnt will not work in a 2g turbo but i plan on swaping out the dash harness.

im still undecided if i going to keep the C.O.P set up yet, it work fine but i know i can reach the HP goal i want with a good set of wires.... and the same thing about the fuel rail, i dont need a aem one because a stock one will get me where i want to be.....

Previous owner had a screwy upgrade path...unless some details have been left out. Out of curiosity what were the compression numbers?

I would keep the COP to see how it runs with the new setup, then decide if you want to sell it. I'm partial to the lambo doors but I think they work here :cool:

the highs compression number was 155 and the lowest was 115... but im that kinda guy that dont want to chance something so im butting a 6 bolt with a 7 bolt head set up.....

and as far as the color goes, i plan on changing it to eather white or a sky blue (like what is on the new toyotas)

as parts come in i will keep the upgrade path up to date!!
 
IMO get rid of the doors. I've had 3 cars I put them on a 2gnt, a 95 firebird, and 99 explorer. They always end up being more hassle than they are worth trust me.

As for the cops and fuel rail, most dsmrs never need anything other than the stock coil. The only reason I have them is cosmetic honestly as most how have them are. They actually have a lesser spark without something like a msd. So I say sell the cops and fuel rail to help with funds on the build.

Good job on the silver always been my favorite color on a eclipse.

Gotcha. Those are close to the numbers I was getting before building the 6-bolt. Highest in the 150s lowest in the 120s.

+ 1 on the ignition. Both items look awesome that's the only reason I ever considered getting them. Actually had a sweet AEM fuel rail...but I sold it. And now I miss it LOL. It was blue wish I had some pics of my bay. All red and blue.
 
I got alot off the motor today, and alot got the exhaust off as well (to sell). I also started in the interior swap.

Got my new/used turbo in!!!! New to me but a used turbo, so I plan on dropping the turbo off at a local turbo shop to have it rebuilt ..

The other turbo is the 14b turbo that came with the car....

He is putting in the tan interior. Taking out the gray. Looking good man. I'm in the middle of my build right now also. So I'm right there with you. Also looks like he didn't even have a bov on the car.

It looks like it was a PR intercooler kit but missing alot of piping, I plan on custom making the rest of piping I need because I plan on using a GM maf, and a hks bov :)

Time to give y'all a update......

Right now the head is in the shop and I have been waiting on my pistons to return from boneheadperformance (getting coated) .
