Well this is going to be a process in itself. A lot of work, but even more fun! The finished product will make it ALL worth it! Going to try cleaning up the firewall a bit, remove the EGR, going to bypass FIAV. Get down to as little Vac lines as needed!

I'll start off with adding a few pics of how things are now..

This is the best "Before" pic I have minus intake, licp, and uicp. Excuse the Translator taped onto fuse box!

Parts are going to be shipped off to Coating\Painting this week and will update more then!

Also on a different topic I got the ELHS mod done to the car, the nut I used as a spacer was just a tad more than the 8MM thickness of the AC bracket so I added a washer to the other side, and it leveled out perfect.

Doing all this also has shown that I need a new knock sensor(shown in pic above) Going to change out starter while I'm there, as that is the original and I have such easy access to it right now.

Also Head is coming off, getting Cometic gasket(have been told that stock gasket may be better if im not going to put down big HP numbers), ARP head studs, and am going to see if anything else needs to be done to the head once it is off.

All opinions\suggestions welcomed!

I dig the black chrome as well!! I'm planning on doing a good cleanup of my bay once spring comes around, once I get a new intercooler set up, and start my engine rebuild. It sucks having my car burried in 4ft of snow :(

Anyways, keep up the good work!!

Well here's a couple updated pics. Heat shields have been sand blasted amateur-ly by me, and professionaly by Sheela and her crew(much nice job) as well as some metal added in places to make it structurally stronger.

Heat shields have been coated with super high temp powder, this also made the heat shields much stronger!

I think I prefer the stock shields over some of the after market ones out there just to give it that 'undercover' look :p

Well that's the update for the week...so far!

This is officially my favorite part that I have gotten powder coated!!

Won't have finished pics for a little while yet, A few parts are still at the coaters(6 hours away) and only part sitting in the engine bay right now is the block, other than the wiring..

Well here is one amazing difference! This pumps me right up!! :D :D

^^Very nice, looks exactly like mine except mine is black...currently letting the paint cure so we can do our letters in green.

how much long till it is back together???

Should be withing a month or so. Waiting on Cams, and some head work. Looking for any super good deals on springs\retainers. Just ordered up all the gaskets I need, head studs, fuel rail fittings.

As of right now I'm pretty sure all I need is:

Catch can set up. -8AN fittings
-6AN fuel filter
Clean the nooks\crannies in the engine bay
and Some more extra spare time

Looking good man... I have everything apart right now so i'm doing something similar... except i'm gonna polish like EVERYTHING LOL.

Wow everything is looking great!!! I plan to do this next winter Hopefully save up about 8000 this summer and do motor rebuild and engine bay cleanup like this all in one shot. But great job can't wait to see the finished result.

Looking good, can't wait to see it done! I just started tearing my car down today actually. Black chrome will be pretty prominent underneath my hood LOL.
