here's my strange problem...I hope someone else has had this problem.

fuel:
walbro255 pump
680cc injectors
safc2
palmstein

If I lean out my afc any my o2 sensor voltage goes to 0.00 which means very lean from what I've read. The car will not build any boost and just bucks like crazy...so today:

i went out for a few runs...this time i said lemme see what happens if i richen it up 10%. The car pulls so much better but I am so lost? Why would my car run better when I richen it up? My o2's were showing like .52 but it pulled timing to 3 at about 10psi and stopped accelerating. When I lean out my car I can't build any boost. My o2 sensor reads .00 and my timing is at 30 by 4000 rpms. What is going on with my car? When I richen it up my short trim is at like 7 and my long is at 15. This sucks. I'm tempted to get a sledge hammer to this pos. I don't know what to do.

Can someone please help me? I'm getting so frustrated! My car should run like ass with the afc zero'd out. But richened 10% it prob shouldn't even be running.

I noticed that you dont have a FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator) on your setup. Is your fuel pressure still ran off of your stock FPR. Anytime you install larger than stock injectors you need to have a FPR on your setup to compensate for the larger injectors. Your pump can keep up with the injectors but the stock FPR cant so thats why you are leaning out so bad. I bet if you hopped on a dyno your fuel map would be very sparatic and not a solid line. Get one of these and it should solve your problem:

Make sure to get the install kit along with it, you will need it or buy all the fittings seperate. But for $100 its not a bad price.

If it was a boost leak, or bad 02 sensor riching it would not make the car run better. Bad o2 would make your car run super rich all the time, and a boost leak would feel like major turbo lag. Its you FPR im telling you replace this and your problem will be solved.

I thought it would over run the fpr? Causing it to be rich? Not lean?

Your FPR probably doesn't have anything to do with your problem, at least from being over run. If that was the problem you would be running really rich. If your FPR is bad and sticking then it could possibly cause you to go lean. You should get a fuel pressure gauge if you don't have one so you can see how your fuel pressure is.

I just recently had problems with my o2's dropping to 0.00v at WOT and stuttering in higher RPMs and it turned out that my fuel pump's o-ring wasn't sealing correctly so I wasn't getting enough fuel pressure. I was also having problems starting the car after it was sitting for a little bit though.

If your car is bucking when you’re going WOT then your o2 sensor may be fine. The o2 sensor is only used for closed loop so when you go WOT it doesn't matter if your o2 sensor is good or not.

If you have the money, your best bet would be to get an adjustable FPR and a fuel pressure gauge so you can see if your fuel pressure is even as high as it should be. At least try to get a fuel pressure gauge to check what it is at now. The adjustable FPR regulator would be a really good idea if possible because your fuel pump will over run the stock FPR if everything is working right.

My car is doing the exact same thing! Hard to start after it sits . I'm going to pull the pump tomorrow and check that! Sounds exactly like my problem. I figured the hard starts were from being to rich. Takes about 3-4 good attempts to get it cranked.

i have 660 afpr and a 255 and my afc is at +10% and it runs very good i had it at like -22 and it ran very bad so if it runs good at +10 and theres no knock then leave it alone

Are you on a hacked MAS by any chance?

no im not but after i made that post i finaly put a fuel psi gauge on my car and it was at 25 psi so that was my problem i turned it up to 36psi and so far im at -7 for my low and still going
