My DSM Life: 92 Black Tsi rust haven

I have posted a different build thread for my dinosaur-old project white 92 Tsi, but this one is about a black 1992 Tsi 4 bolt rear end, tan leather interior and no sunroof. I bought the car without a turbo, MAF, exhaust or CAS and it came from the midwest. I planned on using this at first as a parts car, but I believe I can salvage this DSM and maybe keep another one on the road for a bit longer.

My previous Talon project, the white 92, started out as a large aftermarket dump of parts, but I recently decided to keep the white one mostly stock and to take all these brand new, dust-collecting parts and build this black Tsi for a fun project.

As I got into it, I quickly realized that the rust might be a problem. The engine bay looked a bit rough and bolts were breaking off more often than I hoped.

I have a giant list of the mods I plan on putting on this car that I have been stock piling for literally over 10 years.

I started with the turbo setup upgrade, new aftermarket parts. These were first fitted in my white 92, but never used yet:

AEM Adjustable Cam Gears
Dejon Tool intake pipe
VRSpeed Front Mount Intercooler
GM MAF-T w/ powder coated 3-piece larger piping
Tial BOV
FueLab FPR
Braided SS Fuel feed/return lines (silver with black ends)
Soon to be purchased 16g Mitsu Turbo (or rebuilt old ones)
Old HKS boost controller

I was playing around with some color schemes and I think I want to keep the car stock black, or possibly a flat black, with silver/bronze(or tan-ish) accents. I've always wanted bronze Volk TE-37's for my white 92, but I'm toying with trying the bronze colored wheels with the black and try to replicate the silver decal that wrapped around the bottom of the 90-91 Talons on the same place on my black 92. Engine bay would look mostly like the pics above in the white 92 engine bay. I would like the engine bay to be mostly black/silver and keep the tan accent to the leather interior.

Either that or keep car black (or flat black), keep the black wheels idea, replicate the decal from 1ga Talons in tan with black silver engine bay and tan leather interior.

I'm obviously getting ahead of myself, as this project will be long time down the road. I want my white 92 finished first.
