My DIY FMIC, what do you think?????

check out my diy fmic, cost a total of 340.00, what do you guys think? i know its a t25 but anyway, it will be a big 16g soon. i just want all the supproting mods first before i upgrade the turbo. .the pics are in my profile gallery.

Looks good. I have a few suggestions that you might allready be aware of but it might help others reading this thread.

First off those hose clamps will come back to bite you when you least expect it. Although more expensive, t-bolt clamps are the way to go. In addition to better clamps you can put a small bead of weld at the end of your pipes to give the clamp something to keep it from popping off. It doesn't have to be fancy. I've used screws in the past with success. All you have to do is drill a little hole, screw in a small round headed screw, then grind off the part that sticks into the air-flow of the pipe. Some have even used a bead of JB weld.

Second, are the welds. The mig welds are fine but they need to be pressure tested to check for leaks. Or, you can clean up the welds with a grinder and put a thin coat of JB weld on them. That's what I did and it was quick and cheap.

hey thanks for the reviews guys, i beaded the ends of the pipes so they dont slip but i think im gonna go with the good clamps too, i also dont like those standard clamps. it was pretty much a 340.00 diy job so its not too bad on the pocket book. thanks for the jb weld on the mig welds tip, im gonna give that a try then. for greeneclipse's question, its a mishimoto ebay core, 200 shipped.
